Mules and Opportunities
My family had horses so I started riding quite young but my dad decided to buy a mule when I was 11 or 12 and I've been riding them ever since. I can't say that that first mule was such a wonder that I just had to have another, we didn't have him all that long before we sold him. I can say he is what caused me to start a career with them in a round about way. A future client saw that I was riding him and wondered if I wanted a job conditioning race mules because she couldn't find anyone who was willing to ride them. So it started! All I wanted to do was ride, I didn't care what it was or what it looked like so I started riding her mules every spring for a few years and picked up other clients along the way.
Today we have quite a few mules in training all the time.

I have had a number of opportunities over the years to do things I might not have been able to do with just the horses because of peoples curiosity toward the mules. From interviews on Horse World with Larry Mahan to being invited to compete at Spruce Meadows in the battle of the breeds. I've enjoyed all the experiences and am glad I've had the chance to work with these wonderful animals.

Training
We offer a full training program for the mules the same as we do with the horses. Both Rick and I have been fortunate to work with some outstanding mules. Winning numorous championship from the American Mule Association as well as World Championships at Bishop Mule Days from jumping to driving, western to packing. The mules are quite versatile and we like to keep them interested by offering them a wide varity of jobs. So they don't get bored we like to take them trail riding so they get a break from arena work as well as challenge them with new work. If you think our program would fit you and your mule feel free to contact us anytime.

Above is "Odie" jumping at Spruce Meadows during the Battle of the Breeds. Odie won the Jumper Stake at Bishop Mule Days in 1999. Along with Odie's win we have had Champion mules in Empress Josephine, Prince Albert, Maynard's Double Ditto and many more. Empress Josephine won a precedented 5 English Championships and 3 Reserve Championships in 8 years at Bishop Mule Days as well as winning the All Around in 1991. Prince Albert won the American Mule Association All Around 5 different times. Many others have won their share of awards.
